Volcengine Access to Online Mode

A step-by-step tutorial on using Cherry Studio with Volcengine to access DeepSeek R1 online functionality.

1. Log in / Register a “Volcengine” account

2. Create a “network-enabled” “My App”

2.1. Log in to Volcengine, go to the “Volcano Ark” page, portal:https://console.volcengine.com/ark

2.2. Click in order:“My App” - “Create App” - “No-code” - “Single Chat”

3. Fill in information and publish the app

App name：You can name it anything as required. (With*Required, others can be left blank)

The key point: open the network plugin (needs to be enabled first)

3.1. Enable the network plugin feature (note costs and free quotas)

Click Buy Now and follow the steps until the screen below is shown, which indicates successful activation.

Pay attention to the status — at this point activation is successful

Then return to the previous “Fill App Information” screen and continue.

3.2. Network search “Advanced Configuration” explanation

Choose according to your situation; my personal suggestion:

• If you want precise control of input and output, you can use “Custom Call” for networking;

• If you find it troublesome you can leave it unchanged and use “Automatic Call” — the default;

• If money is not an issue and you require very up-to-date information, you can “Force Enable”.

3.3. Publish the app

Click the “Publish” button at the top right — the app is created successfully.

4. Obtain the API Key

Click in order:“API Call Guide” - “Select API Key and Copy” - “View and Choose”

Copy the API key first, then go to Cherry Studio to paste it. (For detailed steps, see the interface below)

Note: If there is no API key, click the top-right of the popup - “Create API Key”, then copy the API key.

5. Use the API Key in Cherry Studio to enable network access to deepseek-R1

5.1. Open Cherry Studio - “Settings” - “Enter any name” - “Type: openAI”

5.2. Configure URL and key

Note: If you can’t find the address or it’s not the Beijing node, you can find the exact address here. Don’t forget the “/”:

5.3. Add the model name

Note: copy the small text below as the model name, otherwise an error will occur.
